During a hunt, Castiel becomes invisible to the Winchesters thanks to a teenage warlock who thinks he's giving Castiel a gift. Sam is pragmatic about it, but Dean is...unsettled that he can't see him. To help, Cas agrees to keep Dean apprised of his whereabouts by touching him. All the touching and the mysterious puzzle that Dean has to solve in order to break the spell work to break down Dean's defenses about his feelings for Cas. But in order to break the spell completely, Dean and Castiel both need to see and say some things they haven't before.
A story about seeing and being seen.
Castiel Novak is convinced he’s the last unwillingly single person in Lupine Cove. Even Gabriel, his perpetual bachelor brother, has found love. It’s probably because Cas leads the most boring life in existence. He’s a gay man living in a rented, one-room cottage in the same small coastal town he grew up in, just getting by as the owner of the same convenience store he was practically raised in. The most excitement he gets is chatting with the locals or maybe, if he’s unlucky, oversleeping and rushing to work. So when a baby is left at the Safe Haven drop-off at the local fire station, he takes the opportunity to step in for the child temporarily, at least until suitable parents, plural, can be found.
Life certainly gets more interesting.
And it gets even more interesting when a handsome man comes crashing—literally—into his life.
When Dean Winchester follows a service dog who won’t leave him alone, he finds Cas Novak, passed out in a stairwell with a Christmas tree on top of him.
A Christmas tree? In July? Who does that?
Turns out that Cas does that. And once he gets to know the snarky, independent, handsome man, Dean can’t help but fall for him.
A story about being seen.
Gabriel Novak is a big brother who isn’t above breaking the rules to give his little brother the world.
Sam Winchester is a little brother who, despite occasionally thinking he’s a dumbass, wants the world for his big brother, who had to become a man much too soon.
So when a misunderstanding has Gabe’s brother, Cas, running for the hills and Sam’s brother, Dean, desperate to make amends, a secret admirer scheme cooked up by Gabe and Sam to give their brothers a well-deserved chance at happiness may be just the thing. But will they end up helping or hurting?
